About Me

It's great to meet you. Thanks for your interest in my work. I'd love to tell you a little about myself, my work, and how it evolved to where it is today. For starters, I'm originally a Floridian and grew up on the sunny beaches of the east coast. The ocean has always been my happy place and is still a major influence on my life and work.

With an interest in the creative process and a love of nature, I studied Landscape Architecture at the University of Florida, graduating in 1979. I had a long career practicing in both Florida and Washington State. Back then we drew everything by hand and I developed skills as a draftsman in pencil and ink. Along with over 30 years working as a designer and project manager from estate master planning to resort waterfalls and public parks, landscape architecture and the environment play a huge part in the development of my work as an artist and painter. Throughout my corporate career, I would satisfy my creative cravings after hours by playing music( jazz, rock, reggae) and teaching myself how to paint. I became a 'Plein air landscape painter during my Seattle days and began to develop some skills with paint and canvas. Then I discovered abstract painting and I fell in love. This was the perfect way for my to compose and design and create without limits, budgets and compromise. It offered complete freedom of expression. I like to think that my work today is a like a song, a lyrical dialogue of line, form and color. If you look closely you'll see that I'm still 'drawing' in the paint and there's often an architectural structure holding it all together.

My goal is to create work that is open to interpretation. To create sublime curves and forms that emulate nature but allow each viewer to 'see' into their own world.

My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
